PolyShrink Embellishments

PolyShrink is a material that shrinks down into a hard material when heated. This is very similar to Shrinky Dinks from when we are kids. Over the years I have seen people use Polyshrink to make different items, however I have never seen it used on a scrapbook page, so I decided to make this tutorial to show everyone how they can make their own custom embellishments with this material.

The first thing you are going to have to do is to gather the following materials:
  • Cutting device (I choose my cricut)
  • Heat source, heat gun (you can also use your oven)
  • PolyShrink Sheet
  • Sanding Block (not in picture)
  • Medium for decorating the polyshrink

Second, cut out your object. Remember PolyShrink, shrinks, so make it significantly larger then you want the final product.

Third, sand the PolyShrink. This allows you to be able to color on it.

Fourth, color and draw any lines that need to be on the embellishment.

Fifth, Shrink! It will look very weird while it is shrinking, and sometimes you will think that is ruined but it will flatten out.

Sixth, apply something heavy to it to flatten it out.

This is the difference in the size from the original cut out to what was left after it was shrunk.

And here is the final product, with the decorations.

This is the layout I I made using the frog. The sketch is from Sketch Inspiration, and is #114. I also used Sassafras Lass' collection Me Likey.

Thanks for Looking!!! Krystal

Gimme Some Lovin'

These pictures are of my oldest son lucas when he was 2 weeks old. The pucker puss on the middle pictures made me want to use this title.
The sketch is from Sketch Blook's website and is part of the April Lyric Challenge from Scrapbook.com
The paper flowers were made by using this tutorial, and they were very fun to make, I just used hot glue to keep the paper down, when twisting them. I also followed the same tutorial to make the ribbon flowers.

Birthday Card

This was a simple card I made for Lucas' future wife, Jocelyn. I love using pink when I can, I guess that is what happens when you have two boys. The paper is from My Creative Scrapbook's February Album Kit. It is very cute, and the Happy Birthday is from Papertrey Inc.

I used the Maya Road Chipboard album, and the Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook, with the album from the Mini Album kit. the papers and embellishments are from Little Yellow Bicycle as well as my stash. I hope you enjoyed looking. Krystal

Valentine Bags

These are the treat bags Lucas and I made for his daycare class. I believe the coffee bags came from Papertrey Ink, and the stamp is from Stampendous. I used my Copic markers to color in the little pinwheels and Lucas stuffed the bags. It was a very cute idea.

Guest Designer for Creative Scrappers

This is the layout that I put together for my Guest Designer Spot on Creative Scrappers, which is based on the sketch below. I am so excited that I got choose to be a guest designer! And loved helping to celebrate Creative Scrappers Birthday!

I used The MY Creative Scrapbook Kit from March, with all these lovely womanly papers, and enjoyed putting it together. Thanks For looking!!!!
