Caged

I love this picture of our dog and our oldest son Lucas. The two of them use to tand at the gate, when I was cooking every night. They looked so pathetic.
To make this layout I painted on the Sasafrass Lass "Me Likey" paper, then sewed the box around it to give it more dimension. I also used a border on the bottom and the i-top tool to make a brad under that red button. Stickles were used on the stars throughout the paper to draw in a little more color throughout the white and black paper.

Miscellaneous Sassafras Lass Layouts

These are some layouts that I have made over the past month using the Sassafras Lass Lines. Me Likey, Nerdy Birdy, and Bungle Jungle.

PolyShrink Embellishments

PolyShrink is a material that shrinks down into a hard material when heated. This is very similar to Shrinky Dinks from when we are kids. Over the years I have seen people use Polyshrink to make different items, however I have never seen it used on a scrapbook page, so I decided to make this tutorial to show everyone how they can make their own custom embellishments with this material.

The first thing you are going to have to do is to gather the following materials:
  • Cutting device (I choose my cricut)
  • Heat source, heat gun (you can also use your oven)
  • PolyShrink Sheet
  • Sanding Block (not in picture)
  • Medium for decorating the polyshrink

Second, cut out your object. Remember PolyShrink, shrinks, so make it significantly larger then you want the final product.

Third, sand the PolyShrink. This allows you to be able to color on it.

Fourth, color and draw any lines that need to be on the embellishment.

Fifth, Shrink! It will look very weird while it is shrinking, and sometimes you will think that is ruined but it will flatten out.

Sixth, apply something heavy to it to flatten it out.

This is the difference in the size from the original cut out to what was left after it was shrunk.

And here is the final product, with the decorations.

This is the layout I I made using the frog. The sketch is from Sketch Inspiration, and is #114. I also used Sassafras Lass' collection Me Likey.

Thanks for Looking!!! Krystal

Super Silly Monster

oooh how I love this picture!!! This was a picture I snapped years ago of my Oldest son Lucas. It was taken on a camera phone, and I am so surprised how well it came out!
Again this layout is from Sassafras Lass' Monstrosity collection. I have to say I think Sassafras Lass is my new favorite Scrapbooking company! I also sewed a double line around the outside and inside of the circle with the sewing machine.

How I Roll

This is a picture from the Memorial Day Parade that we were in. That is my oldest son Lucas with my husband on one of our many tractors. The layout was done with Sassafras Lass Monstrosity Kit. I also used the tutorial on making your own page pebbles from Sketch Inspirations. There is a tractor on the bottom of that page pebble, but you can not see it very well from the scan. The layout is also based on sketch #87 from Creative Scrappers.

Ride Free

This layout is based on sketch # 83 from Creative Scrappers. The products that I used were the monstrosity line from Sassafras Lass, my sewing machine and the new i-top tool.
The picture is of my three favorite men, My husband, my oldest son Lucas and youngest son Owen, on my dirt bike.

My Wish List Starts to Grow

Cosmo Cricket has some really nice new lines but these two are my favorite! Joy Ride and Garden Variety!

These new Sassafras Lass lines are so yummy....I love them....I especially can not wait to use nerdy bird, to scrapbook my oldest son's first year of school!

These new Basic Grey lines are wonderful. Capella is giving me a reason to start my wedding album after 7 years!

I do not know how to describe this new line from Crate paper, except to say....I LOVE IT!!!

From Fancy Pants these are the two lines that I have decided that I must have!!

Man on a Mission

Besides the crummy scanned image, I love this layout! I used so much in this layout, from the Monstrosity line from Sassafras Lass to the Tim Holtz Key, Cosmo cricket chipboard and the different alphas from past lines. I also used my new I-top tool. I really enjoyed making this layout, now only if I could have gotten it to scan better!
